Most life and personal coaching is conducted over the phone. Many clients never actually meet their coaches and these sessions are just as effective as if the coach and client were face-to-face. This makes the process very convenient and offers greater flexibility for people with a busy lifestyle.
Coaching over the phone offers other obvious advantages:
A coaching session is typically thirty minutes and rarely longer than an hour.
Group coaching sessions provide for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 people and are a 4 week program held in 2 locations - Carindale Tuesday nights 7pm - 8.30pm & Chermisde Wednesday nights 7pm - 8.30pm
A life coach will work with you and assist you to overcome obstacles and fears, work on changing limiting beliefs that may be holding you back, focus on solutions and achieving your goals both large and small. Your life coach will work with you to help you become the person you want to be.
The majority of life coaching is conducted over the phone or through skype and occasionally face to face. To be successful you and your coach will need to develop an ongoing relationship based on trust. Your coach’s main focus is on you achieving your goals. Your coach will provide an objective, nonjudgmental and supportive environment so that you can feel safe to discuss anything that may be getting your way to achieving the life you desire.
Most people will want to focus on a current issue that they may be experiencing. In general you can talk about relationships, finances, goals, health, career changes and anything else that may be holding you back from achieving the life you want.
People of all ages and walks of life work with a life coach. Anyone who wishes to change the current circumstance of their life.
Generally a coach will not offer advice to a client. The coach’s role is to direct the client to find solutions to their current issues. This is done by using a variety of questioning techniques which help the client see things from a different perspective. During the coaching session the coach may go through a brainstorming session with the client and at this point may ask the client if they would be interested in a new idea. The coach will never tell the client what to do or how to act.
Therapy tends to focus on past events that may be affecting a person’s ability to function normally in day to day situations. Therapists generally focus on having their client revisit past events to help resolve issues that may be preventing a person from moving forward.
Coaching tends to focus on setting goals, getting results and implementing change. Coaching deals with helping the client move forward, personal growth and unleashing the best you.
I follow the International Coach Federation (ICF) and Life Coaching Academy (LCA) codes of ethics. Both codes are available from their websites.
For life coaching to be successful the coach and client need to build a trusting partnership. All conversations will remain confidential where legally possible.
